Jonathan Edwards—God's Glory Seen in Nature

“The manifestations God makes of Himself in His works are the principle manifestations of His perfections, and the declaration and teachings of His Word are to lead to these. By God’s declaring and teaching that He is infinitely powerful and wise, the creature believes that He is powerful and wise as He teaches, but in seeing His mighty and wise works, the effects of His power abd wisdom, the creature not only hears and believes, but sees His power, and wisdom, and so of His other perfections.”
Jonathan Edwards, Miscellanies No. 777

Should We Fear Jesus?

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Creator of all things, including sharks. Before the Fall, sharks were probably "tame," but not now. Though presented by a fictional character, the following explanation of what happened to the U.S.S. Indianapolis during WWII is, in fact, quite true:

There is so little fear of God in the world today. Even the Church rarely fears our Lord Jesus in a way that truly honors Him.

Reflecting Christ's Glory

This side of Heaven, our lives will never perfectly reflect God's glory, but as we quiet our souls before the Almighty, the greater will be the degree to which His perfections are revealed in our lives.

“Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10 ESV).

All Creation Sings to Christ the Creator

“God glorifies himself in communicating himself, and he communicates himself in glorifying himself.” Jonathan Edwards
