Mother's Day Issue

With Mother's Day less than a month away (May 12), we are offering free of charge a very special issue of HIS NATURE. Please feel free to download it at: ...and make as many copies as you want for your church, school, family or friends.

The Calming Effect of His Creation

“Surely there is something in the unruffled calm of nature that overawes our little anxieties and doubts; the sight of the deep-blue sky and the clustering stars above seems to impart a quiet to the mind.”
Jonathan Edwards

The Soul of Godliness

As we continue our investigation into what it means to "fear God," we humbly lay before you the following excerpt from John Murray's book, "Principles of Conduct," (London: Tyndale Press, 1957; reprinted 1971), pp 229-242. Photo by Roy Caldwell of a Blue-ringed Octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata), which is the size of a golf ball. Christ Jesus gave it venom that is powerful enough to kill a human being. There is no known antidote.

The True Fear of God

Today, the idea that our Creator is a God to be feared has all but disappeared from our society. Tragically, most churches no longer take God at His Word—He is to be feared and obeyed. We've reduced "godly fear" to some vague notion of "respect," and nothing more. By doing this, we have created a crisis of anxiety among those who profess to believe in Christ because we cannot know the love of God, and thus experience the peace of God, unless we first fear Him. Please consider what the Psalmist David writes:

A Vision Test

If you’re like me, you probably have your eyes checked every once in a while to make sure you’re seeing okay. We also need to test our spiritual eyes (Ephesians 1:18), since it is by them that we see Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and live by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).
