Our God Is a Consuming Fire

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in Hell. . . . for our God is a consuming fire (Matthew 10:28; Hebrews 12:29 ESV).

In his writings, theologian Jonathan Edwards referred to God as "winsome," as he was wont to do. "Winsome" is just another term for "delightful." God's Glory Over Norway

Our Lord says in His Word, "Let God be true, and every man a liar" (Romans 3:4a), for God is always true to His glory—always! (Though, sadly, we are not always faithful to God's glory or honoring of His character.) We also read in His Word that, "The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1a), and thus, by His own declaration, He must be faithful to the Truth He presents in this Psalm.
