Soaring Over Pluto

NASA has recently produced an amazing video using the photos taken of Pluto by the New Horizons spacecraft in 2015. Please watch this video—it is only two minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yqsQraRuPU

A couple of thoughts come to mind: 1) Christ Jesus has made some truly amazing worlds that reflect His glory in one way or another, and 2) I am so thankful He has provided Earth as our planet to inhabit. All other planets and moons in the Solar System are inhospitable and desolate. Pluto is no exception. Though it is a hauntingly beautiful place, possessing an alienness that reflects the holiness of our Creator, it is also a barren, frigid world with little atmosphere. Pluto cannot support life as we know it . . . a vivid reminder that all living things exist where He has sovereignly placed them, and are sustained—moment by moment—by His gracious, omnipotent hand (Acts 17:28).

"While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in Thee."
Rock of Ages, Augustus Toplady
